During the Middle Ages, Nero d'Avola was used to add colour and body to wines in Italy; today however, it is used for single varietal wines, full in body and flavour.
Rich and abundant notes of blackberries and plums. Earthy and slightly smokey with a touch of vanilla and chocolate. Rich but velvety tannins and a good acidity. Extremely pleasant to sip.
Pairing - Pairs ideally with roasted lamb and bolognese ragu' but a great companion to vegetarian dishes such as Melanzane alla Parmigiana.
